Today is my actual birthday but the partying has been happening since Friday. Friday night I organized a shindig to celebrate my birthday at the Rivoli. I had a fantastic time and I was so happy to see everyone that came. A crowd of 34 came out to help me celebrate and we had a blast! There was pool, food and a LOT of alcohol. I didn’t crawl into bed until after 3:30 on Saturday morning. I took a load of pics and I’ll get them up for you all to see in a day or so. I feel so blessed to have such great friends. I don’t know what I did to deserve such great people in my life but whatever it was – I’m glad I did it. My life would be empty without you!
Saturday I had an appointment to get my hair cut and even though I was dealing with some serious sleep deprivation and hang-over symptoms, it was still a great experience as always. On Saturday night we headed to Ajax to have dinner with my parents. It was fantastic but I ate waaaaay too much – especially seeing as it was the first real meal I ate all day. We left there exhausted from lack of sleep and bursting with food.
Sunday morning, Jason took me out to brunch at Mildred Pierce. It is really close to our house and it has a pretty good brunch. We had a great time. On Sunday evening we headed out to Mississauga to have dinner with his family. More food, more cake – no alcohol.
Surprisingly enough, even with all that eating and no work-outs in sight, I actually didn’t gain any weight. Not sure how that happened. Hmmm, maybe there really aren’t any calories in birthday cake. Today I’m having a birthday lunch at work with my team and tonight – after we go to the gym of course – Jason and I are making some bbq steak with blue cheese mushroom sauce and some rice for dinner. And for desert – a piece of the sugar pie my mom sent home with me on Saturday.
I have loads of other stuff to update you on since my last post but those will have to wait. Now I have to get back to doing some work. Although….”it’s my birthday and I’ll slack off if I want to”….yes, perhaps that is a better plan.
